The Embassy of Turkmenistan to the Federal Republic of Germany held event under programme of the Year “Turkmenistan – Home of Neutrality”.
Representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Germany, Willkommen in Berlin diplomatic club, diplomatic mission accredited in Germany as well as public and business circles, members of Turkmen diaspora and students studying in Berlin universities took part in the meeting, which was held in the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Berlin.
Representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan Authorised Representative of the German Foreign Ministry for Eastern Europe, Southern Caucasus and Central Asia Michael Ziebert made a speech for the participants.
Importance of the status of permanent neutrality as a remarkable event in the history of Turkmenistan and efficiency of foreign strategy of the country, which is based on peace-making potential, open doors policy and initiative position in solution of current problems of international agenda, has been mentioned. The attention of participants has also been focused on success of Turkmen state in achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The participants has been informed that 2020 is held in our country under slogan “Turkmenistan – Home of Neutrality” and about the programme of events and celebrations developed on occasion of the 25th anniversary of neutrality. In this aspect, it was informed about the preparation to High-level International Conference “Policy of Neutrality and its Importance in Provision of Global Peace, Security and Sustainable Development”, which would be held in Ashgabat on December 12, 2020.
Priorities of Turkmen – German cooperation have been discussed during the meeting and steadfast character of interstate dialog in different spheres has been noted. Activity of Turkmen – German Working Group for trade and economic cooperation, successful organization of mutual Economy Days as well as business forums, cultural events have been brought as example. In particular, exposition “Margiana – the Kingdom of the Bronze Age on the territory of Turkmenistan”, participation in international events held in both countries have raised huge interest of German citizens and guests of the country.
Trade and economic, transport, logistic and investment potential of the country, large-scale international projects and current initiatives in different aspects of global development as well as work for popularization of unique historical and cultural heritage of Turkmen nation have been introduced to the participants.
Celebration reception, during which the guest have tried best dishes of Turkmen cuisine, has been organized in the end of the event.
