In accordance with the programme of the Year "Turkmenistan is the Motherland of Neutrality", a number of various events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan were held in different countries with the participation of the heads and specialists of the diplomatic missions of our country.
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Austria organized a round table to mark the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality at Vienna School of International Studies on 26 February. The specialists of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria, the diplomatic corps, teachers of higher educational institutions and representatives of the Turkmen-Austrian society took part in the meeting.
Director of the Vienna School of International Studies, Emil Brix, Rector of the International University for Humanities and Development, Esen Aydogdiyev, and UN Senior Representative Vladimir Goryayev presented their reports in frames of the event.
On 26 February, within the 82nd session of the Inland Transport Committee (ITC) of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) at the UN Office in Geneva (Switzerland), the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan jointly with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN Office in Geneva and UNECE organized a round table meeting "Transport and Communication Potential of the Caspian Sea Region: Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan - the shortest route".

One of the goals of the event is to present the transport and logistics opportunities of Turkmenistan, its investment potential and achievements in various fields. During the meeting, the Turkmen side focused on the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and the importance of this phenomenon in the system of foreign policy coordinates. A photo exhibition became the visualization of the topic of the meeting.
In order to familiarize the general public with national cuisines of Asian countries, the Mission of Turkmenistan jointly with the Mission of Asian countries to UNESCO (Paris) organized a Culinary Festival on February 26. As part of the event, national stands were set up to introduce gastronomic traditions of these peoples.
On 26 February, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey and the Consulate General in Istanbul organized a conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan at the University of Ushak, where the representatives of Turkmen youth study. Rector of the University of Ushak, Professor Dr. Ekrem Savash, university professors, representatives of science and culture, as well as public organizations and media, Turkmen and Turkish students took part in the forum.
On February 27, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Riyadh hosted a briefing dedicated to the 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Saudi Arabia, the King Faisal Center for Islamic Studies, the Center for Research and International Knowledge (CRIC), the Saudi branch of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World, activists of the Turkmen Diaspora in Saudi Arabia and the media.
The briefing participants were familiarized with the cultural and educational events held in Turkmenistan and abroad as part of the year "Turkmenistan is the Motherland of Neutrality". It was noted that the foreign audience was highly interested in the ideas and principles of the Turkmen model of neutrality in international relations, in strengthening universal peace and security.
During the briefing, the importance of Turkmen neutrality as an effective model for multifaceted cooperation to ensure universal peace, progress and sustainable development goals was noted.
In this context, the attention of the participants was focused on the aspects of the forthcoming International Conference "The policy of neutrality and its role in ensuring international peace, security and sustainable development" to be held in Ashgabat on 11-12 December 2020.
