Government policy in human right sphere is in the agenda of the meeting with EU representatives

Regular session was held in video conference format under Turkmenistan – European Union Dialog on human rights. The Ombudsman, heads and representatives of the Mejlis, Foreign Ministry and other officials took part in the meeting from Turkmen side.

The European side has been represented by personnel of European External Action Service and office of European Union in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged the opinions on such priority directions of the government policy as development of civic society, supremacy of law and judicial reform, cooperation of the sides on reduction of social and economic impact of COVID-19 pandemic.

During online meeting, the participants have also discussed comprehensive support to provision of economic, social and cultural rights of people under international and local documents.

First, this is such documents as National Action Plan for provision of gender equality in 2015 – 2020, National Action Plan in Human Rights in 2016 – 2020, National Action Plan for Combating Human Trafficking in 2020 – 2022, National Action Plan for Realization of Children Rights in 2018 – 2022, National Strategy for Early Child Development in 2020 – 2025 and other.
