On August 12, Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin held a working meeting with Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan Guych Garayev. The parties discussed the issues of cooperation between the Astrakhan Region and Turkmenistan.

“I am glad to congratulate you the beginning of work in Astrakhan not by phone, but in frames of a personal meeting. It is very symbolic that our meeting takes place on the Caspian Sea Day. Exactly a year ago, I was lucky to lead the delegation of the Astrakhan region at the First Caspian Economic Forum, which was held in Turkmenbashi. We are grateful for the attention that the respected President of Turkmenistan paid to us,” said the Astrakhan Region Governor greeting the Consul.

Igor Babushkin also noted that issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region are regularly discussed at the high level.

In turn, the consul conveyed the greetings of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov to Igor Babushkin. Guych Garayev also expressed the hope that as soon as the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the world stabilizes, the governor of the Astrakhan region would visit Turkmenistan again.
