President of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov opened the videoconference meeting of the national forum and congratulated the participants of the meeting and, in their person, the people of the country on this important event, as well as on the 29th anniversary of the independence of the Motherland.

The President of Turkmenistan emphasized that a new stage of constitutional reforms in the country was launched and the initiative to improve the Main Law of the country was put forward at the 2019 session of Halk Maslahaty.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the main goal of these transformations was to improve the work of the highest representative bodies - the Halk Maslahaty and the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, as well as establishment of a bicameral structure of the legislative body, bringing the activities of democratic institutions up to a new level.

Approving the agenda of the Halk Maslahaty meeting, the Turkmen summed up the results of the independent development of the country.
