The World Architecture Day, which was founded by International Union of Architects in 1985, is observed on the first Monday of October together with the UN World Habitat Day, which undergoes under slogan “Toward better urban future” this year. Choosing new subject of this remarkable day every year, this time, the IUA tries to attract attention of professionals and public to the problems related to cities and environment.

“Just as it is reshaping social customs and spaces all across the world, the global pandemic is revealing once again how crises affect the poorest and most vulnerable populations disproportionately”, - the statement of the IUA President Thomas Vonier says. In far too many of the world’s cities, people cannot follow safe practices, simply because they lack clean water and air, and even space itself. Urban policies must ensure adequate services, shelter, and recreational space for all citizens. Urban planning, design, and architecture are critical to a better urban future for all”.

Socially oriented policy of Turkmenistan, which is brightly reflected in modern urban construction of Ashgabat, is v visual illustration of these actual ideas. Implementation of wide-scale living program is among priority objectives of the Government and capital’s administration. Comfortable apartments in multi-store buildings, which are counted by hundreds already, have become affordable and attractive for people with average income owing to beneficial crediting while simultaneous formation of social and living infrastructure of new residential areas provides maximum comfort to Ashgabat residents. Together with construction of high-rise buildings, groups of four – and two-store houses with land plots are built for families with many children.

Ashgabat is growing and developed according to global construction trends. Strategy of development of urban infrastructure provides the establishment of comfortable living environment for the population of the capital. Entire districts are reconstructed in side the city, new residential estates appear, parks and public gardens are developed, roads are built and old city districts are developed.

The 16th phase of urban construction, which includes twelve-store comfortable residential buildings is under completion in the capital. Thousands of families of personnel from different ministries and departments will be the owners of new apartments. Infrastructural facilities built in this area like roads, car parking, green zones as well as big shopping center will make comfortable conditions for life and recreation of new tenants.
