Exhibition dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of Ashgabat Earthquake has opened in the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.

Thematic exhibition has been presented in several sections. The narration is opened with the story about pre-war Ashgabat. Administrative and residential buildings, beautiful alleys, ancient constructions, parking zones are on the pictures, which remained by miracle until our days. They are in sharp contrast with photo evidence of the tragedy… Unique pictures broadcast fortitude and resilience of the residents of the city, who fought bravely with impact of devastating earthquake, which has happened on October 6 night, 1948…

The exhibition presents picturesque canvas from museum reserves, which correlates with the subject of the exhibition. Retrospective of dramatic events has been supplemented with archeological artefacts and articles from ethnographic collection, videos and printing production.

Section dedicated to the present of our magnificent white-marble capital serves as a life-affirming epilogue.
