Mutual interest – a foundation for partnership

Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia Andrus Ansip, who had arrived in Ashgabat leading the high-level delegation of his country, continued his visit to Turkmenistan

As was reported, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Estonian Prime Minister at the Oguzkhan Presidential Palace Complex on the first day of the visit. This meeting illustrated the willingness of the two countries to strengthen and enhance fruitful cooperation in various areas.

The signing of the bilateral documents designed to facilitate creating the effective mechanisms for economic cooperation and promoting business contacts in Ashgabat were another evidence for the mutual interest in intensifying Turkmen-Estonian partnership and establishing long-term contacts between ministries and departments and the business circles of the two countries.

The Turkmen-Estonian Business Forum in which the Estonian Prime Minister participated contributed to steeping up further fruitful partnership given social and economic realities and priorities of the two states.

On the second of the official visit to Turkmenistan Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia Andrus Ansip visited landmarks of Ashgabat and its vicinities.

On the morning the Prime Minister and the members of the Estonian government delegation visited S. Turkmenbashi Textile Complex in Ashgabat where they could see the manufacturing process and state-of-the-art equipment which produce dozens of types of competitive knitted goods which are in high demand on world markets.

The Estonian guests visited the Gulistan shopping centre.

Prime Minister Andrus Ansip walked around stores where diversity and variety of vegetables and fruits, an abundance of fruits grown in the generous Turkmen land were presented. Then the guests visited the Altyn Asyr shopping centre where they could see a wide range of high quality and competitive goods, including domestically produced textile goods.

The guests were greatly impressed by the unique collection of the Turkmen Carpet Museum which is bright evidence for unsurpassed talent and outstanding craftsmanship of Turkmen carpet makers.

Prime Minister Andrus Ansip and the members of the Estonian government delegation visited the Main National Museum. The priceless collections displayed there testify to the ancient history and unique tangible and intangible culture of the Turkmen people. Rarities and pieces of arts of the bygone epochs, the collections of rare specimens folk costumes and fabrics, household articles and articles made of precious stones and weapons, archeological finds discovered in the territory of our country and other ‘pearls’ of the national heritage aroused sincere admiration and keen interest of the foreign guests. Thanking for the interesting and cognitive excursion, Mr. Andrus Ansip wrote an entry to the Book of Guests of Honour.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia Andrus Ansip visited the International Equestrians Sports Complex located at the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains. The distinguished gust expressed admiration of the beauty and gracefulness of elite representatives of the legendary Ahalteke breed – the national pride and wealth of the Turkmen people.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia Andrus Ansip and the members of the government delegation have left Ashgabat today.
