These spring days the active sports events take place in Lebap province. On May 23, in Turkmenabat sports school 2 the championship of Turkmenistan in free style wrestle will start and in Farap entrap there were held mass contests on the occasion of the upcoming International Day of Child Protection and other events. But the main sports news came from the city of Saint Petersburg of Russia where Lebap sportsmen successfully performed in judo competition.
In the group of sportsmen aged 15-16 in weight class up to 42 kilograms the gold medal was won by Hakberdi Jumayev. Another sportsman from the city on the Amyderya –Emin Baltayev performed in the age group up to 12 in weight class up to 30 kg. Here the Turkmen national performed 7 bouts and in five of them he took upper hand including the hosting team. As a result, the trainee of F.Hudayberdiyev shared 4-5 places falling behind from medals and became winner of the special prizes “For the best technique” and “For will to victory”. It should be noted that E. Baltayev was the youngest participant in his weight class.
Another medal-bronze was won by the student of the national Institute of Spots and Tourism of Turkmenistan Yakup Meredov who performed in weight class up to 56 kilograms in the international boxing tournament which was held in Tashkent of Uzbekistan.
Recently Dashoguz has hosted the power lifting championship of Turkmenistan among juniors aged under 17 where the national team of Lebap entered the three best teams according to its score. Besides it, sportsmen of Turkmenabat have won 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.
With a great number of prizes Lebap sportsmen returned from the championship of Turkmenistan in padding in Turkmenbashi city. The team of the eastern region won 4 second and 4 third places for different distances and again entering the three best teams gaining scores in general score.
These days in the territory of Lebap province the citizen of Italy Enzo Mazuchchi, bicyclist of round world journey crossed. This long cycle race started in late July, last year in the city of Komo. For this period Enzo Mazuchchi crossed tens of countries –Germany, Poland, Greece, Turkey, Iran and many others covering on his two-wheeled steel horse up to 130 kilometers per day.
Ahead of the Italian traveler is the rods of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, other Asian countries and then, Australia, New Zealand, South America and Europe. A totally, E. Mazuchchi will cover over 10 000 kilometers by his bicycle.
