Colorful solemnities, which marked the beginning of the Week of Culture, were held in Turkmenabat – administrative center of Lebap province. This large-scale action is held in our country for the third time and aimed at stimulation of creative activity and further development of national culture, its wide popularization in the world and integration into global cultural space.

Solemn opening ceremony of the Week of Culture took place on the square before Rukhiyet Palace, where creative intelligentsia from all provinces, participants of International Art Exhibition, being organized within the framework of scale action, representatives of mass media, numerous guests, local population, elders and youth have gathered.

Colorful show demonstrated whole palette of modern Turkmen art. Viewers welcomed with storm of applauses the popular performers of folk and variety songs, as well as folklore groups, which worthily continue today the original traditions of national art.

In the evening, a joint concert of well-known group of violinists “Mukam” of special musical boarding school at the Turkmen National Conservatoire and ensemble of violinists “Bagtiyar” of children’s art school of Lebap province was held at the State Music and Drama Theatre named after S. Seydi.

The program of the first day of the Week of Culture also included the poetry evening “Inspiration of happiness” held with participation of famous writers in Lebap province library.
