Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the French Republic Shohrat Jumaev had a meeting with Senator, Head of the France-Central Asia Group Hervé Morey.

Senator, Head of the France-Turkmenistan Friendship Subgroup and Counselor of the Department of International Relations and Protocol of the Senate, Executive Secretary of the France-Central Asia Friendship Group attended the meeting

The parties discussed key aspects of the Turkmen-French inter-parliamentary dialogue, as well as the issues of cooperation in such areas as trade and economy, culture and education.

Ambassador Shohrat Jumaev briefed French senators on the constitutional reform implemented in Turkmenistan and the process of transition to a bicameral parliamentary system. In this regard, the head of the diplomatic mission of our country emphasized that this reform was carried out based on consultations and active participation of all layers of civil society.

French parliamentarians were informed about the social and economic achievements of Turkmenistan. In turn, Mr. Morey noted that the Senate expressed interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation. In this context, the parties discussed the possibility of holding a cycle of events aimed at intensifying the inter-parliamentary dialogue.

It was agreed to organize a meeting between Ambassador Sh. Jumaev and senators, members of the France-Central Asia Friendship Group to exchange views on the aspects of cooperation.

In conclusion, the book of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Turkmenistan - the Heart of the Great Silk Road", published in French was presented to senators.
