Online meeting of architects, urban construction personnel, historians of architecture and restorers, which was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Construction and Architecture with support of the Union of Architects of the country, took place.

Representatives from the Commonwealth of Independent States as well from Georgia and Ukraine have also taken part in the webinar. Specialists have made the reports presenting some interesting information to the audience on their researches and creative achievements. For Turkmen delegation, the Museum of Visual Arts was a platform for its presentation.

As is known, current 2021 is held as a Year of Architecture and Urban Construction in the CIS at the proposal of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made at the session of the Council of the heads of the governments of the CIS members in May 2020.

The participants of the webinar noted that this is an excellent opportunity for conducting such meetings, professional contests and exhibitions, publication of books and albums about architecture. This is another chance to use given opportunities in order to attract attention of the society to problems and objectives of architecture, to public status of architects, to new legal foundations of architectural activity.

These issues are urgent in every country, therefore, according to the speakers, it is important to share the experience on regular basis, to work closer under such competent international bodies as the CIS Executive Committee, UNESCO as well as professional structures as International Association of Architects Union, International Architecture Academy.

Forestalling the reports of foreign guests, videos, which briefly speak about Turkmenistan, the most recognizable features of Turkmen national culture and the history of the country’s architecture, as well as works of teachers and students of Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute and the State Art Academy have been demonstrated to them.

In addition, the participants of the seminar were able to see an animated video about the latest mega project of Ashgabat City, which ground breaking ceremony would be held in the days of celebration of the 140th anniversary of the city.

The participants of the webinar have spoken that visual features of XXI century can be see today in the projects and ideas of young architects, who have to look into future forecasting global trends. In this regard, big hopes are laid upon on the potential of students, who is actively involved in real project designing during educational process. It is very important, the speakers said, for practicing architects to participate actively in professional education and in training of young specialists. Only under this condition, the architecture will be permanently updated acquiring latest technical and technological means and not loosing relations with old traditions.

Everybody were unanimous that careful treatment of not only the heritage but also to ecological balance of nature and human has to be a specific feature of XXI architecture.

New types of residential, public and production buildings, new multifunctional structures meeting modern economic, technological, social and cultural conditions and based on scientific and technical developments are under formation in many countries today. Permanent sharing of views, cooperation of all structures involved in the process of architectural design and urban construction are the guarantees of successful solution of complicated issues of urban construction, - this was the main idea of many speeches made during the webinar.
