Currently on view in the foyer of the Dashoguz Velayat Local History Museum, an exhibition showcases the best artworks by students (grades 4-11) from the northern region’s general education schools, who took part in the national art competition’s regional round.

The creative contest was co-organized by the Ministry of Education, the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization and the Peace Fund of Turkmenistan to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.

The competition aims to nurture youth in the spirit of patriotism and honoring the Turkmen nation’s cultural and spiritual traditions, to encourage creative thinking and to spot new talents. The schoolchildren competed in three categories: gouache, conceptual models and essays about peace.

At the core of the exhibition are conceptual models. Among them are models of the Monument of Independence, the Monument of Neutrality, the emblem of the year designated as ‘Turkmenistan: A Land of Peace and Trust’, modern architectural gems and historical monuments. Colorful gouache paintings by the young artists feature modern-day achievements of our country.

The winning works will be presented after the competition’s final round that will take place in Ashgabat on April 20.
