The system of social inclusion is introduced in Turkmenistan

 Specialists in social work of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population take part in a 15-day training within the framework of the project of Turkmenistan and the UN “Improving the system of social protection through the introduction of inclusive quality community-based social services”.

 During the sessions, organized in all regions of the country, national trainers familiarize the participants with the planning and provision of inclusive social assistance, with the process of developing materials.

The joint program, funded by the SDG Fund, aims to modernize the delivery of social services by creating a national model of inclusive quality community-based social assistance at the local level. 45 social work specialists assess the individual needs of service recipients in 20 pilot districts of the country. They are currently undergoing training under this programme.

At the same time, a group of theorists and practitioners of social work from higher educational institutions of the country develop national standards for higher education, curricula and programmes adapted to the national requirements of social services.

In addition to the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, the UN agencies, civil society organizations, including the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, Yenme, Keik Okara, the Society of the Deaf and Blind are involved in the implementation of the project.
