Laws on establishment of titles of «Türkmenistanyň halk itşynasy» (People’s dog breeder of Turkmenistan) and «Türkmenistanyň at gazanan itşynasy» (Honored dog breeder of Turkmenistan) in Turkmenistan have been published in media.
The documents, which were adopted at the 13th session of the Mejlis of the sixth convocation, set out the Provisions on these honorary titles and description of their insignias. It was decided that titles of People’s dog breeder of Turkmenistan and Honored dog breeder of Turkmenistan are the state awards.
The title of People’s dog breeder of Turkmenistan will be conferred for the merits in popularization of Turkmen shepherd dogs in the world, development of dog breeding art as well as for high results in teaching of younger generation on breeding and training of Turkmen dogs.
The title of Honored dog breeder of Turkmenistan is awarded to people who have big merits in breeding and increment of livestock of Turkmen shepherd dogs, which are an integral part of rich cultural heritage of Turkmen people.
Both titles are awarded by the Order of the President of Turkmenistan. The titles are conferred both to Turkmen and foreign citizens. The title is awarded upon the submissions by the head of central administrations of government authorities, heads of the regions and Ashgabat as well as by the heads of public associations. The submissions are addressed to the President of Turkmenistan.
People awarded with title of People’s dog breeder of Turkmenistan receive lump sum award to the amount of five minimum salary wage and 30 percent of the minimum salary wage to monthly salary, pension, state allowance and student scholarship.
People awarded with the title of Honored dog breeder of Turkmenistan receive lump sum award to the amount of four minimum salary wage and 20 percent of the minimum salary wage to monthly salary, pension, state allowance and student scholarship.
In addition, people awarded with these titles are entitles to other benefits according to Turkmenistan’s legislation.
From our side, we would like to add that National Turkmen Horse Holiday will be celebrated together with Turkmen Shepherd Dog Day on the last Sunday of April for the first time this year.
