The State Institute of Culture hosted an international meeting "The historical image of Sultan Sanjar, the principles of peacefulness and friendliness in the mentality of the Turkmen people", which was held in a hybrid format.

The forum, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, was attended by Turkmen scientists and specialists, as well as their colleagues from dozens of countries of the world. Among them are the heads and representatives of large scientific centers, museums and universities in Japan, Saudi Arabia, Romania, USA, Great Britain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Algeria, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, etc.

Those speaking during the meeting underlined the role of science and culture in promoting social development. Forum participants emphasized that the Turkmen people’s great ancestors had created the largest libraries and scientific centers, opened observatories, and encouraged the development of art.

It was reflected in their reports: "The peacemaking initiatives of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov - the spiritual heritage of Sultan Sanjar", "Displaying the ideas of peace and trust in the history of the Seljuk", "The principles of peacefulness and humanism of the Seljuk sultans."

It was emphasized that Turkmenistan had always been one of the strategic crossroads of human civilization. Great empires with glittering capitals, whose monuments of outstanding value and universal significance are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, were born there.

Scientists presented interesting archaeological and manuscript information about the history, economy and culture, literature, scientific institutions and libraries of the Great Seljuk period.

Separate reports were devoted to the peculiarities of the cultural life in Central Asia during the time of Sultan Sanjar, the contribution of the Seljuk rulers to world culture and history.

As noted, the history of the Seljuk state left an indelible mark not only in the annals of the Turkmen people, but also made an invaluable contribution to world history.

Emphasizing the importance of this meeting, forum participants were unanimous in the opinion that such events help to expand the bridges of friendship between peoples and open up broad ways for solving the most important problems of our time facing science, culture and society.
