On June 7, Turkmen composer, honored art worker of the country Sukhan Tuyliyev celebrated his 65th birthday.

Sukhan Allievich to this day works tirelessly in his native alma mater - the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva (formerly the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute of Arts), from which he graduated in 1981.

The future composer began his career in his school years - with the opening of a music school in the city of Yolotan.

At that time, the accordion was popular in Turkmenistan, which made Mami Chary famous. The youth wanted to learn how to play the accordion. So I also signed up for the appropriate instrument - he says.

At the secondary school, Sukhan Tuyliyev also played the accordion, where they performed Turkmen folk and pop songs, and was part of the school brass band.

“The knowledge and practical skills that I received in those years helped me in my further composing career,” says Sukhan Allievich.

At the Turkmen State Music School named after Danatar Ovezov, he studied at the Choral Conducting department with Genrikh Stanislavovich Drzhevsky, a talented composer, conductor and teacher. Genrikh Stanislavovich, a Pole by nationality, who was called "a living encyclopedia", wrote Turkmen music. He played a key role in the life of the future composer, became for him a "guide" in the world of professional music.

Sukhan Tuyliyev had a dream - to become a composer, to write music that will forever remain in people's hearts. He was lucky to receive composer knowledge from such outstanding art workers at the school - as Aman Agadzhikov, Rejep Rejepov, in his institute years - from Professors Veli Mukhatov, Rejep Allayarov, with whom he later maintained friendly relations.

During his studies at the school, under the mentor of Redjep Redjepov, Sukhan Tuyliyev wrote his first musical compositions - 9 small pieces for piano. Already a student at the Turkmen National Conservatory, he created major works - Dramatic Variations for Piano, a cantata on poems by Nobatguly Redjepov "At the Eternal Flame", and in his last year he composed a symphony.

In 1982, Sukhan Tuiliev became a member of the Union of Composers of the USSR. In 1984 he met the famous composer and teacher Yuri Fortunatov at the Ivanovo House of Composers' Creativity. As Sukhan Allievich admits, this was his cherished dream. Aimed at improving professional skills, in 1985 Sukhan Tuiliev went to study in an assistant-internship at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where Professor Yuri Fortunatov taught. While studying in Moscow, he composed the cantata Song of Peace for chorus and symphony orchestra on verses by Agageldi Allanazarov and Atajan Tagan, as well as the symphonic poem Bentler.

Upon returning to his homeland, Sukhan Tuyliyev began working at the Danatar Ovezov Music School, and later at the Conservatory, sharing his rich experience in the composer's field with the younger generation. On his account - symphonic, vocal-symphonic, chamber-instrumental works, glorifying the Turkmen land.

He is also the author of several books on music theory, wrote a Ph.D. thesis on the peculiarities of Turkmen folk music and their influences on composing.

Sukhan Tuyliyev was awarded the medal «For Love to the Fatherland».
