Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has convened a regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital means to discuss priority issues of state life and some draft documents.
Addressing the session agenda, the nation’s leader invited Cabinet Deputy Chairman G. Mushshikov via video link to report on the ongoing efforts to analyze, revise and update the existing normative legal documents in line with present-day requirements.
The Vice-Premier also submitted for consideration by the head of Turkmenistan a proposal to make changes to the membership of the Interdepartmental Commission of the Ministry of Finance and Economy in an effort to achieve greater efficiency in the privatization of state-owned property.
Cabinet Deputy Chairman Sh. Abdrakhmanov centered his report on the state of affairs in the departments answerable to him, and the steps being taken by the Türkmengaz State Concern to implement gas chemical projects financed by foreign investments.
As informed, negotiations are being conducted with large foreign companies, which are interested in cooperation with Turkmenistan and have earned a reputation for being reliable and responsible partners, to carry out projects important to our country.
In his report, Cabinet Deputy Chairman E. Orazgeldiev covered the situation in the sector he is in charge of, and the ongoing measures for using land resources effectively to stimulate the dynamic development of the national economy’s sectors.
A draft Order on the allocation of land to ministries, sectoral agencies, khyakimliks and enterprises subordinate to them for construction and production activities was presented for consideration by the head of state.
After signing the within-said Order, the head of state submitted it digitally to the Vice-Premier and gave the issue-associated commissions on its successful implementation.
During the Cabinet session, the nation’s leader invited Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection A. Altyev for direct video communication to inform about the progress of the work underway in the sectors he is responsible for. The report also addressed the expected excessively hot weather and high temperatures.
In this regard, the head of state gave detailed instructions on how to organize the activities properly.

Then, a draft Resolution ‘On Purchasing Ammonium Nitrate by the Türkmenhimiýa State Concern’ was presented for consideration by the head of state.
To produce high cotton yields in 2021, special efforts are being made in the country to supply the agricultural sector with mineral fertilizers to nourish the soil.
In his turn, Cabinet Deputy Chairman B. Ovezov informed about the far-reaching measures being implemented in the sectors directly managed by him to improve and boost their performance levels in line with present-day standards.
Established with the share capital of the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary Agency, Balkan Shipbuilding and Repairing Yard Open Joint-Stock Company is gathering momentum. Scores of foreign and domestic vessels have been repaired so far. Steps are being taken to keep its specialists’ professional development continuous.
The head of state specifically instructed the Vice-Premier to extensively explore and adopt best practices in operations of the shipbuilding and repair yard, to provide freight and passenger transport services, and to take action to protect the environment.
The state of affairs in the sector he is in charge of, the implementation progress of the country’s export growth program, and the continuous efforts to increase the competitive edge of Turkmenistan-made products in world markets were in the center of the report made by Cabinet Deputy Chairman Ch. Gylyjov.
Cabinet Deputy Chairperson M. Mammedova focused her report on the current situation in the departments she is responsible for, and the organization of festivities to mark the 30th anniversary of the home country’s independence.
Cabinet Deputy Chairman M. Geldinyyazov presented a draft Resolution ‘On Approving the 2021-2025 National Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases’ for consideration by the head of state.

In his report, Cabinet Deputy Chairman, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov covered the ongoing efforts to foster collaboration between our country and the European Union.
As noted in this context, strengthening the equal-footed and mutually beneficial cooperation with European countries, including member-states of the EU, is one of the key areas of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy.
To expand the partnership with the European Union, bilateral meetings and consultations are held on a regular basis, in particular within the Turkmenistan – EU Joint and Interparliamentary Committees.
Along with that, it is advisable to promote newly designated areas of cooperation in the energy sector. Worthy of note are the proposals put forward during the consultations between Turkmenistan and the European Union on June 18, 2021. To boost the collaboration in the field of renewable sources of energy and green economy principles, it was proposed to hold a trilateral Dialogue between Turkmenistan, the European Commissioner for Energy, and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in October or November this year.
It was also suggested that a research and practice conference on the European Green Deal and the EU Hydrogen and Methane Strategies should be organized to exchange expertise on lower-carbon and hydrogen energy solutions. This, in turn, will lend impetus to the efforts being made now, given the initiatives announced by the President of Turkmenistan at the high-level United Nations Global Roundtable on Extractive Industries on May 25, 2021.
In the report follow-up comments, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that neutral Turkmenistan attaches great importance to boosting the constructive cooperation with the European Union in the multilateral and bilateral format – with EU countries.
Summing up the Cabinet session that discussed the priority issues of state life and adopted a number of documents aimed to stimulate the sectors, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on one more significant aspect.
The head of state necessitated exercising close and effective control over fire prevention precautions, and, in this context, ensuring the sustainable and efficient use of electricity. Strict adherence to the regulations will help people to avoid heat exhaustion and exposure to high UV radiation levels, the head of Turkmenistan stressed.
Bringing the digital Cabinet session to a close, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished its participants good health, family wellbeing and every success in their work for the benefit and prosperity of the independent home country.

Then, the President of Turkmenistan conducted a working meeting with the participation of the Mejlis Milli Gengesh Chairperson, some Cabinet Deputies Chairman, heads of ministries and agencies to discuss the upcoming working visit to Balkan velayat, preparations for large-scale international events to be held in the region, and ongoing efforts to increase the effectiveness and operational performance of the country’s transport-transit corridors.
After reading out the meeting agenda, the head of state heard reports delivered by some senior officials on the prepared Program, and the steps being taken to tackle the tasks successfully. As informed, the relevant departments and agencies are working in close and effective collaboration to implement the 2019-2025 Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the country’s socio-economic development.
Special emphasis is placed on enhancing the status of Turkmenistan (well located geographically) as a transport and transit hub of international significance, ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of all modes of transport on a par with present-day requirements, and implementing the wide-ranging reforms aimed at the national economy’s development.
In the after-report comments, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov pointed out that during the working visit to Balkan velayat the operation of the region’s transport and logistics facilities would be surveyed. The nation’s leader also highlighted the importance of preparations for the upcoming Central Asian Leaders’ Summit. The Balkan region is set to host a number of other international meetings, as well.
While on the subject, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that our country is steadily building up its reputation among industrialized countries.
