On the threshold of the 30th anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan in the atrium-hall of the Museum of Fine Art the exhibition-competition «Bagtyýarlyk döwrüni ň çeper keşbi» for the best work among teachers and students of the State Fine Art Academy of Turkmenistan, and also artists from all regions of our country was organized. The competition was held in seven nominations: painting, drawing, sculpture of small forms, ceramics, jeweller art, carpet making and design.

Interesting and highly artistic works were displayed in all nominations. Certainly, the most representative were among painters. Rustam Abdullaev's work "Family" was already exposed by the author and attracted attention of fans of painting. This time the artist displayed the continuation of the plot in his work "Happiness". The stop for the night in a long journey was made by the same characters to which the camel and the adult alabay were added. The unruly little boy climbed up high and as the sea captain went in dreams to submit the seas and oceans. In the happy view of the camel one can feel support of game of the small owner, and protects a sweet dream of all sleeping members of the family alabay. As it became known during the competition, this work of the artist from Lebap shared 3rd place with artists from Mary and Dashoguz.

The first place was awarded to the work "Mejnun" by teacher of the State Fine Art Academy of Turkmenistan Bayram Nuryev. This painting also was displayed earlier. The author stridently transferred sympathy for the unfortunate young man who lost reason from love.

The work of the Lebap artist Alimjan Ishankuliev the painting for a palace’s dome made special impression on us. The thin pattern of the drawing executed in graphic architecture of modern Ashkhabad, transferred in gentle bluish colour with five cranes in the centre vividly impact spectators. The author named the work «Light from Turkmenistan proceeds in space». This work took 1st place in nomination "design".

One was attracted by the tapestry "Racer”. Its author is the student of the State Fine Art academy of Turkmenistan Lalezar Ovezova, who performed her work with national colour having added by herself a few modernist styles. Work was given 2nd place.

Among the presented ceramic works we were simply fascinated with an old aged man from terracotta. Small very sly eyes, a huge stomach and the hands closed on the waist - the image of this uneasy aged man as though expresses «the East – a subtle business». However this work did receive prize-winning places. And at the same time, if in awarding the prize of spectator sympathies appears, for certain, it would be awarded.

Magnificent works of artists-jewellers, graphic artists and sculptors were displayed in the competition. As a whole the exhibition-competition, irrespective of the received places of encouragement, gives to fans of fine art optimistic representation about the height of the creative level of our artists.
