The play "Turkmen Hero" by the Mollanepes Student Theater started in theatrical performances dedicated to the glorious date of our country - the 30th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan.

"The Turkmen Hero" is staged based on the epic "Gerogly" staged by the People's Artist of Turkmenistan Nurmukhammet Keshikov. He is also a production director. Conventionally, the action of the play can be divided into several branches: the birth of Gerogly, a prophetic dream in which he saw his narrowed Agayunus, leadership over 40 nukers, who together with him stood up to defend the borders of the Motherland.

The folk epic "Gerogly" is so rich in nuances that each reading is fraught with the possibility of a new approach for stage performance. For example, it is well known that the birth of a folk hero is associated with events of an unusual nature. Nurmukhammet Keshikov began the stage narration differently - with Gerogly's mother, who dreamed of seeing her son as soon as possible, whom she carried under her heart. She mentally pressed him to her chest, singing gentle lullabies. Perhaps it was this motherly love that helped the newborn boy survive in the inhuman conditions that fell to his lot.

In the course of the performance, the answer of Jygaly of the run amazes with its honesty and insight, to which the grandson Genjim turned with the question that tormented him - why the people chose Gerogly as khan, and not him. After all, he is rich, and Gerogly is poor.

“You cannot take the world with wealth: the Gerogly were chosen as khan because he is courageous, and the people need a shield,” the sage replied to his grandson.

The play was staged in record time - two and a half weeks. The action on the stage alternates with video clips on the screen, contributing to a deeper perception of the beauty of the Turkmen nature and the warlike spirit of the Turkmen.

3rd year students took part in the performance, freshmen took part in the crowd. The third-year student Aman Atayev in the role of Dali Matel and the freshman Bagtyyar Dolyev, as well as the freshman Kerim Atayev in the role of Jygaly run, were especially distinguished.

Kerim Ataev is the very beloved actor of the State Russian Drama Theater. A.S. Pushkin. This year he entered the directing department of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture.

- I believe that the director must first become a good actor himself, and only then demand something from the actors, - Kerim explains. - It is noteworthy that my curator at the institute is Ashir Rakhmanov, with whom we have been cooperating for 13 years. “The Turkmen Hero” is the first performance with which I appeared on the stage of the Student Theater, because I am a first-year student and it is only the first month of my studies.

The play tells about the heroism of the Turkmen people, about the culture and mentality of the Turkmen. Embodying the image of Gerogly through acting on stage is a good lesson for educating young people in the spirit of courage and nobility. Only a person with such qualities can lead a Turkmen, which is why this performance was chosen for the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.

One of the peri in the play who came to Gerogly in a dream is Aina Dzhumaeva. The leading actress of the Pushkin Theater, behind whom the studio school, like Kerim Atayev, became a student of the Institute of Culture, but not the directing, but the acting department. This is how an extraordinary incident happened at the Institute of Culture this year: two stars from the Pushkin Theater became its students.

“You leave us and don’t leave, because the doors of the Pushkin Theater are wide open for you,” Aina recalls the parting words of the artistic director of the Sovkhet Serbazov. - Of course, Kerim and I will continue to perform our roles in the performances so that the theater does not feel difficulties due to our absence, and so that we do not feel bitterness from parting with our native stage.
