A holiday concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan took place in Astrakhan. The event was held in the Cultural Center of the Astrakhan State University, where study many young citizens of Turkmenistan. Its program was prepared together with the Center of Turkmen language and culture of ASU and the Association of foreign students of Astrakhan.
Yekaterina Shatokhina, a head of the international student office of ASU congratulated the audience with the Independence Day of Turkmenistan. She wished the citizens of the friendly state well, peace and family welfare.
Addressing to the Turkmen students, the representative of the Society of Turkmen culture in Astrakhan city Rizabek Kurbanov emphasized an importance of conservation of national culture and its role in the development of the friendly international relations. He also thanked the Russian higher educational institution for the paternal attitude towards our students.
The students from Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan dance groups and ensembles performed the popular Turkmen songs and dances, including well-known song “Ayna” and ancient Turkmen dance “Kushtdepdi”. The final concert item united al its participants, and received a standing ovation.
In conclusion of the event its organizer, Resul Shadjiev, a lecturer of the Department of orient languages, the projects coordinator of the Center of Turkmen language and culture of ASU, thanked the audience and congratulated them with holiday.
The activists of the Center of Turkmen language and culture, opened in ASU in 2019, celebrate in a big way the Turkmen holidays, hold various events on the occasion of the important for Turkmenistan events. Thus, in May this year, there was held a ceremony of floral tribute to the monument of Makhtumkuli Fragi, located in the square near the main building of the Astrakhan State University. Recently, the Center took part in the VI Caspian media forum which was held in Astrakhan city.
