The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov starts two-day official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the visit the head of Turkmenistan will hold negotiations in Tashkent with his Uzbek colleague Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The leaders of two countries-neighbors during the talks in tete-a-tete format and in an extended format of delegations, will discuss the matters on development of the Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation in the political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian areas. It is expected, that it will be emphasized the development of the bilateral partnership in the fuel and energy complex, power energy, transport and communication sector and agriculture. The heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will also exchange opinions on situation in Afghanistan.

According to the results of the Turkmen-Uzbek negotiations at top level it is planned to sign a package of bilateral documents, which will jump start the cooperation between Ashgabat and Tashkent.

Besides, within the framework of the official visit of the Turkmen leader to Uzbekistan the Turkmen-Uzbek Economic Forum will take place.
