The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Chairman of the Mejlis Milli Gengesh took part in the III Eurasian Women's Forum, organized by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation jointly with the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states.
The main topic of the meeting, held in a hybrid format, is “Women: global mission in a new reality”. The meeting agenda includes the women’s mission to create a new agenda based on peace and trust, preserve health, achieve economic development, facilitate digitalization, protect the planet, and bring about social change.
The Forum is attended by women parliamentarians, as well as representatives of executive authorities, authoritative international organizations, global corporations, public organizations and well-known figures of the international women's movement.
One of the topics of the reports was the gender policy implemented in Turkmenistan under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In this context, it was noted that national legislation provides for legal instruments and guarantees for equal participation of men and women in government of the state, ensuring equal opportunities for the economic independence of women, and improving their working conditions.
Forum participants discussed a wide range of issues related to ensuring global security, social progress, health development and global environmental problems. The business programme of the Forum, which will last until October 15, consists of plenary sessions, strategic sessions, discussion platforms, business dialogues, foresight sessions, webinars, workshops among others.
