The football players of «Kopetdag» and «Ahal» failed to score in the championship of the country, having been even – 1:1, in a match between each other within the catch-up fifth round. The match was held in the central arena of the multi-purpose stadium «Ashgabat».
In the 11th minute of play, Begench Akmamedov, having converted a penalty, gave «Kopetdag» a lead – 1:0. 6 minutes later, a captain of «Ahal» and the best player of the AFC-2021 Cup on kick conversion Elman Tagayev restored parity.
Arslanmurad Amanov, a captain of the team of Turkmenistan, debuted in this match in «Ahal» team after several seasons of his performance in the championship of Uzbekistan. As previously reported, in summer of this year 31 years old well-known halfback by mutual agreement terminated a contract with the Uzbek team «Sogdiana» and signed a new contract with «Ahal». However, this fact did not allow the vice-champion of the country to beat the finalist of the 2020 Turkmenistan Cup in its first play in season.
In the next round of the national championship, «Ahal» will host the Balkanabat’s «Nebitchi» on 25 October, and «Kopetdag» will play with «Ashgabat» on 26 October.
