EU Delegation to Turkmenistan Supports «EUBeachCleanup» Campaign

The Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan has become part of the global campaign to protect the ocean and raise awareness of the population «EUBeachCleanup», organizing, together with the Society for the Conservation of Nature, an environmental campaign on the shores of Lake Geokdepe.

The event brought together about 40 people, including employees of the diplomatic missions of the EU member states, volunteers and eco-activists. All of them were united by one goal - to promote environmental behavior among the local population and demonstrate the importance of respect for nature.

The collected waste was sent by the Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan for processing to local companies.

In partnership with the United Nations, the European Union is calling on the public to play their part in protecting the environment and respecting the oceans through global efforts to reduce and prevent pollution from plastics, including marine debris.
