A new giant carpet with an area of 210 square meters will appear in Turkmenistan to celebrate the Day of the country's neutrality. The craftswomen of the Serdar enterprise of artistic carpet weaving of the Balkan velayat are working on the creation of the next masterpiece of carpet.

According to Ogulmaral Amanjaeva, a specialist at the State Enterprise “Turkmenhaly", the gols of the Akhal velayat will be woven on a giant carpet and the novelty itself will decorate one of the white yurts of Türkmeniň ak öýi.

And it is no coincidence that the Turkmen national art of carpet weaving is included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Keeping the secrets of hand-made carpet weaving, Turkmen craftswomen amaze with their success again and again.

A year earlier, in the Lebap velayat at the Halach enterprise of artistic carpet weaving, craftswomen weaved a unique carpet made in the shape of a horseshoe, and for the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality they created a round carpet with an area of 168 square meters.

This year the first giant Turkmen carpet “Turkmen Kalby”, weaved in the period from 1941-1942, celebrated the 80th anniversary of its creation. Much later than its predecessor, another giant Turkmen carpet "Golden Age", with a total area of 301 square meters, was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest handmade carpet.
