Photojournalists from Turkmenistan are invited to participate in the international competition for professional photographers News Photo Awards. A Changing World.
The competition, organized by the Russian news agency TASS, is open to professional photojournalists working or collaborating with the media. This time, the organizers invited potential participants to show the changes in our world in their works. Working on the "front line", photojournalists are the first to notice and capture the most important and interesting, preserve the moments of the present for future generations.
A competent jury of representatives of the world's leading agencies and media will determine the winners in four nominations: news (News), people and lifestyle (People & Lifestyle), healthcare (Healthcare) and the environment (Environment).
In each category, two winners will be selected - Best Solo Photography and Best Series of Photos. The Grand Prix will be awarded to the best photograph out of all announced, the most vividly revealing the theme of the competition.
The results of the News Photo Awards will be announced in March 2022. Applications are accepted until December 24, 2021 on the competition website.
The idea of holding the first News Photo Awards competition was proposed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in April 2020 during an exclusive interview with TASS. Then the main topic of the photo competition was overcoming the coronavirus pandemic - Overcoming COVID-19. The competition aroused great interest of the world community - more than four thousand high-quality images from 84 countries were sent. This creative competition made it possible to truly see the importance of the work of photojournalists, to appreciate their professionalism in difficult conditions and extraordinary heroism in difficult life situations.
It should be noted that the work of the winners of the News Photo Awards competition. Overcoming COVID was subsequently presented at the largest business and exhibition events held in Russia.
