Aknur Saparovna Hojagurbanova is a choir teacher at the Specialized Music boarding school at the Turkmen National Concervatory named after Maya Kulieva, «Gunesh» choir conductor, Honoured arts worker of Turkmenistan, recipient of medal of Turkmenistan «Watana bolan söýgüsi üçin» (Love for the Motherland), winner of contest «Türkmeniň Altyn asyry» announced by the President of Turkmenistan, an orchestra director, türkmen medeniýetine, sungatyna, bilimine uly goşandyny goşýan dirižor, choirmaster who contributes a lot to the Turkmen culture and arts.

Aknur Saparovna was born on 27 February, 1943 in Ashgabat city in worker’s family – united family of Ballyev Sapar and Gulnabat eje . Gulnabat eje felt a passion to music of young Aknur, and in 1954 she brought her daughter to the specialized music boarding school. There Aknur learns to play musical instruments at the special piano department of the composer and piano teacher Durdy Nuryev. In 1959 successfully completing school, she entered the choral department of the School of Music Arts named after D. Ovezov, he also joined the State Choir of the Turkmen State Philharmonic as a choir singer. Aknur Hojagurbanova still remembers her master tutors with pride. Among them were Genrih Drezhevskiy, Vladimir Dmitriyenko, Ata Esenov, Aman Shahberdiyev.

Aknur Khojagurbanova notes, "These tutors taught me not only music but also how to find the right path in life and be faithful to your profession."

In 1964 she started her carreer in the choir of radio and television, first as the choir conductor, and then as the choir's director and general manager. From 1981 to 1986, she entered the Turkmen State Pedagogical Art Institute (now the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva) in the department of choral conductor and successfully completed it.

Despite her young age, Aknur Hojagurbanova was a teacher and educated young people at the 3rd Musical School of Ashgabat, the Choir Department of the Conservatory, the State Philharmonic. As our forefathers noted, "Profession is a spring, science is a lamp." In 1985, Aknur worked as the artistic director and conductor of the Children's Choir of Radio and Television. Working with the choir and raising children to be talented singers is Aknur's first concern.

A children's choir led by Aknur Khojagurbanova successfully represented Turkmenistan at the 1989 International Festival in Chelyabinsk, Russian Federation. At that festival, the choir boys and girls sang Danapar Ovezov's acapella song "Vaharman" and received praise, as well as great popularity from the jury and spectators. This success of young choir singers continues on a consistent basis. They then took part in children's festivals in Ankara and Istanbul (Turkey), and in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), gaining the popularity of the Turkmen children's choir around the world.

In 2005 Aknur Hojagurbanova became a choir teacher at the Specialized Music boarding school at the Turkmen National Concervatory named after Maya Kulieva and having created the “Gunesh” choir group, became its artistic director. From that day on the “Gunesh” choir group got high awards of the esteemed President. They were the winners of the "Pearls of Independence" contest and the President of Turkmenistan's "Golden Age of the Turkmen" contest. In addition, they are awarded the title of “Gulbaba” Children's Prize of the Central Council of the Youth Organization named after Magtymguly.

Aknur Hojagurbanova praises the name of our Hero Arkdag with applause, saying: “Long live the life of our dear Arkadag, who gives all the opportunities to develop the art of Turkmen culture and introduce it to the whole world! "May his work continue to thrive!". In our turn, we wish Aknur Hojagurbanova further success in her creative work, in creating new songs.
