Good neighborly relations in the mentality of the Turkmen people

In the atrium hall of the Museum of Fine Arts, the results of the competition-exhibition "Good Neighborly Relations in the Fine Arts" were summed up, in which students of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan took part. Good-neighborly relations are firmly embedded in the mentality of the Turkmen people. No wonder they say that a neighbor is sometimes dearer to a neighbor than a relative. Peaceful friendly relations have become a principled position not only within the country, but also in foreign policy. Beginning artists decided to tell about this through art, who revealed in their works the themes of the peaceful creative life of the Turkmens.

Aghajan Rejepov, 6th year student, became a laureate in the nomination painting. He depicted a slender Akhal-Teke horse of white color against the background of the modern capital with its religious buildings and the State Banner of Turkmenistan. The picture is somewhat reminiscent of poster art, however, approaches to the disclosure of the topic justify such a decision. Aghajan Rejepov expressed patriotic feelings and pride in his country in his work.

The winner in the carpet weaving nomination - fifth-year student Leyli Karova also depicted a white Akhal-Teke horse in her work "Pride of the Turkmen people". To convey her character, Leyli used the 3D technique and attached national jewelry to the Akhal-Teke's neck. Complementing carpets with jewelry is a hallmark of Leili's creativity.

“My teacher Mergen Berdyev is the main advisor in choosing colors, the right shades of threads or fabrics,” says Leili. - I not only weave carpets, but also paint on fabric with acrylics. Usually on silk I depict national jewelry - a brooch or a necklace. A dress made of such fabric can be decorated with neither traditional Turkmen embroidery nor a brooch.

It is very great that our creative youth bring their innovations to life. Their initiative is not only original in itself, but also has practical significance. The sophomore Makhym Atakova also belongs to modern experimenters, who took first place in the graphics nomination. Makhym graduated from the painting department of the Turkmen State School, but she began to continue her education at the Academy of Arts at the graphics department. At the exhibition "Good Neighborly Relations in the Fine Arts" she presented a picture, which captures the moment of performance of horsemen at the circus arena. Moreover, the artist chose an unusual angle - a view from the orchestral balcony. For the vast majority of visitors, graphics are presented in the form of a contour line, strokes made in black ink, or in the form of a print. Makhym has color graphics.

“I use charcoal, colored pencils, oil, pastels in my works,” explains Makhym Atakova. - It seems to me that my graphics allow deeper emphasis on the characteristic features of the characters. I especially like to write children with their spontaneity and carelessness.

By the way, quite a lot of space is given to children in the exhibition paintings. One of these pictures is about a girl doing her homework. A girl in a white school apron, which schoolgirls wore at almost all times. But in the courtyard of the 21st century, slender skyscrapers testify to this through an open window. Therefore, instead of a portfolio - a traditional attribute of studying at the school of grandparents, a comfortable backpack, and instead of books and notebooks - a computer. But only the globe - a textbook repeating our planet in a reduced form - remained unchanged, as if emphasizing that time has no power over our Earth.

A wonderful sculpture of two boys jumping over each other. It is made so naturally that I would like to congratulate the author on a magnificent work.

The exhibition features a large number of bright tapestries that convey the beauty of their native land, and exquisite jewelry that delights with their beauty. The exhibition "Good Neighborly Relations in the Fine Arts" brought great aesthetic pleasure to the visitors, while the prize-winners of the competition, and there were 35 of them, in the first, second and third places in each nomination, received incomparable joy from the recognition of their talent.
