The construction of the new carpetmaking workshop is in the final stage in the settlement Guychbirleshik of Halach etrap of Lebap velayat. On order of the Halach art carpetmaking enterprise, the structure was built by the Mary wool processing enterprise and Individual enterprise “Altyn gum”.
The workshop, where the famous handmade carpets will be created, occupies about 300 square meters. Here all conditions are provided for the creative activity of about hundred carpetmakers. It should be noted, that the art carpetmaking enterprise is famous for its creative personnel. The craftswomen from Lebap made the unique carpet in a form of the horseshoe, and on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan they made the round carpet of 168 square meters.
In the new building the large premises equipped with the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are provided for the carpetmakers. The builders made sure that the workers had no complaints about the quality of the finishing works and the equipment of the workshop.
This year, on order of the State Association “Turkmenkhaly”, the construction of three more new workshops was completed for the art carpetmaking enterprises: in the Baharden art carpetmaking enterprise of Ahal velayat, in Gubadag etrap of Dashoguz velayat, and in Bayramali city (Mary art carpetmaking enterprise). They were opened within the framework of the programs to expand and improve the production and technical base of the association and integrated development of regions. To create famous handmade carpets - the pride and glory of the Turkmens - there will be about 150 craftswomen in each workshop.
Last year the new carpet factory was built in Ashgabat. The old enterprise of the capital, having a glorious history and worldwide fame, has found a new creative platform for the development of the traditional art of carpet weaving. The enterprise is designed for the production of 1650 square meters of carpets and carpet articles per year. The workshop alone, where the renowned handmade carpets will be created, occupies a thousand square meters. All conditions have been created here for the creative activity of about two hundred craftswomen, who carefully preserve the traditional handmake technology even in the era of mass production.
