With financial support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) "Supporting climate resilient livelihoods in agricultural communities in drought-prone areas of Turkmenistan" and USAID, 31 fruit trees were purchased in Samarkand (Uzbekistan). As a result, seedlings of high and dwarf apples, pears, bees, blackberries, plums, peaches, cinnamon and cherries were imported from neighboring country and distributed to gardeners for planting. These seedlings are types of gardens that adapt to hot and arid climates and give high yields.
In order to properly plant, care for and cultivate fruit tree seedlings, purchased within the framework of the UNDP "Supporting climate resilient livelihoods in agricultural communities in drought-prone areas of Turkmenistan", the practical and methodic training “"Rules for planting seedlings and care for young trees" was held in the “Watan” daykhan association of Danev etrap of Lebap velayat. The representatives of the khakimliks of Lebap velayat and Danev etrap, Lebap velayat department of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the experienced gardeners participated in the training.
During the course, the period and rules of preparation and planting of areas for planting fruit trees, care for seedlings, irrigation and protection from frosty weather were discussed in detail. At the end of the training, the participants were shown how to plant fruit trees in a specially prepared area.
