The meeting was held between the Cultural Attaché and Head of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat Navid Rasuli and the Director of the Magtymguly National institute of language, literature and manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Orazsahedov Davut.

In the meeting, held yesterday in the building of the Magtymguly National institute of language, literature and manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat, the parties emphasized an importance of the extension of cultural cooperation between two countries.

In the course of talks, the parties discussed the potential possibilities of cooperation of Turkmenistan and Iran in the cultural sphere.

The Cultural Attaché and Head of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat Navid Rasuli stated: «The fact that thousands of Arabic, Persian and Turkic manuscripts are stored in the Magtymguly National institute of language, literature and manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, is testimony to the historic and cultural links between Iran and Turkmenistan».

He also stressed that the research and publication of these valuable documents will serve to the knowledge sharing between two countries and support the extension of cultural cooperation.

The Cultural Attaché of Iran proposed to the Institute to sign an agreement with the National Library of Iran or Organization of libraries, museums and documents center for further combined working on manuscripts.

The Director of the Magtymguly National institute of language, literature and manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Orazsahedov Davut in his turn stated, that the Institute is ready to cooperate with the Cultural Attaché and the Cultural Center of the IRI in Ashgabat for organization of the scientific and cultural conferences.
