President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov called the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) countries for the joint fight against pandemic.

The head of the state declared about it on the XV Summit of heads of ECO countries, holding in Ashgabat within the framework of the Turkmen presidency in the organization.

Noting the relevance of cooperation in medicine and healthcare, the head of state stressed that the past two years have become a serious test for everyone due to the pandemic.

According to the Turkmen leader, it quickly became obvious that one or another country alone can achieve only temporary successes in the fight against the pandemic.

«In this regard, we believe it expedient in the very near future to start establishing on a systematic basis, within the framework of the ECO, channels for exchanging experience, methods and best practices in the field of combating dangerous infectious diseases. We have something to offer each other in this area," the head of state emphasized.
