Turkmen students are the winners of the Republican interuniversity festival in Tatarstan

The team of the Turkmen students studying in the Kazan (Volga region) Federal University (KFU) have successfully performed in the Republican interuniversity festival «Foreign Student Day» in Tatarstan. The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan reported thereof.

Thus, the dancing group of students from Turkmenistan “Dostluk” won the first place in nomination “Folk dance”. They performed the Turkmen folk dance “Kushtdepdi”, which was included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The group received the Winners’ Cup and honorary diploma.

Other Turkmen student’s, dancing group “Galkynysh”, representing the Elabuga Institute (branch) of KFU won the third place in nomination “Stylized folk dance.” On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of Ashgabat, they performed the Turkmen dance to “Ashgabat” song.

The honorary first place in nomination “Folk songs” won the third-year student of the Institute of Philology and intercultural communication of KFU Gylyjov Begench. The Turkmen song “Yar yuzunden” sung by him took the jury by storm.

the Kazan (Volga region) Federal University is one of the oldest Russian universities. In 2019 the university in terms of number of foreign students became the second in Russia.
