India celebrated 30th anniversary of independence of CIS countries

In the capital of India, New-Delhi, the event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence of CIS member-states took place. The organizers of the event was the diplomatic missions of the member-states of the Commonwealth of Independent States – Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The guest of honour was the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Meenakshi Lekhi.

«We should make every effort to develop relations of our people in all spheres. And we can only achieve this by uniting », - said Meenakshi Lekhi, stating that India had close contacts with all countries of the Commonwealth.

Participants were also able to get acquainted with a thematic photo exhibition reflecting the achievements of countries over the years of independence, taste dishes of the national cuisine of all nine countries.
