Conservatory waiting to the New Year

The New Year – is a favourite holiday of children and adults, on the eve of which everyone wants to believe in miracles. And we can say that the musicians of the department of wind and percussion instruments created a small miracle by holding a New Year's festive concert in the Great Hall of Conservatory.

The concert program opened the first-year students. Ogulay Pirjanova masterfully performed «Hungarian Dance» of Wilhelm Popp. «Fantasy» of Gabriel Faure sounded no less colorful performed by Bayramgul Ahmedova. Merjen Gulmuhammedova cheerfully, playfully and incendiaryly performed the «Italian polka» of Sergei Rachmaninov.

The virtuoso piece of Grigoras Dinicu «Hor staccato» sounded very organically with elements of mystery performed on the oboe by the senior teacher Maksat Annamuradov. The first three swaying notes were perceived by the audience as a springboard to the whole play. And the use of a stroke of double staccato and numerous trills created the impression of flight, while abrupt stops and rich piano chords captured the attention of the audience. It gave the impression of a rivalry between the oboe and the piano. By the way, piano parts for the concert were performed by accompanists Natella Bagirova, Yevgeniy Tselyutin, Jemal Artykova and Amangul Bazarova.

Any concert, of course, is decorated with ensembles. «Christmass suita» of Johnson sounded very bright and festive performed by quintet under the direction of the honored artist of Turkmenistan Muhametchary Annamuradov: Gulyalek Geldymuradova (flute), Kuvvat Orazov (oboe), Aymamet Guseynov (clarinet), Astan Batyrov (french horn), Begench Saryev (bassoon). A light melody, saturated with colors of fun and joy, immersed the listeners in an atmosphere of childish carelessness.

Performance of teacher Sapar Saparov made a special impression on the audience in the hall. Soft, warm tone of the composition of Carl Maria Von Weber «Rondo» did not give listeners the opportunity to be distracted even for a moment. Carl Maria Von Weber is a German romantic composer. His concert style: emotional uplift, effective techniques, bright performing presentation - influenced his style as well. Therefore, Weber's works are perceived in one breath.

It is difficult to call "Walz" by Dmitri Shostakovich a New Year's work, but the sophistication, soulful melody evokes light notes of sadness, reminiscent of the past that has gone forever. It is noteworthy that "Waltz" was performed by five bassoonists at once: Begench Babamuradov, Murat Annamuradov, Ovezmurat Japarov, Begench Saryev, Rahat Charyev. The piano part was performed by Natella Bagirova. The soft, velvety timbre of the five bassoons and the piercing piano notes in the upper register stirred a variety of senses among music lovers.

This composition of Dmitri Shostakovich - most loved abroad. Foreigners call it "Russian Waltz". As a rule, as soon as this piece starts to sound, the listeners, expressing their delight, begin to move to the beat of the melody. Bibliographers suggest that "Waltz" was included in another work of Shestakovich - "Suite for Jazz", although there was nothing jazz in it. "Waltz" sounded piercing and touching in the film "First Echelon" directed by Mikhail Kalatozov.

The fireworks of the concert can be considered the performance of the ensemble of the brass instruments – Babaguly Goshaev, Begench Yunisov, Alisher Yakubov, who masterfully performed the Richard Rodgers’s composition «Mawy ay». And the Greek dance melody "Sirtaki" performed by them caused a clapping to the beat of the music by every single listener.

Works of Turkmen composers sounded on a festive note: «Concert» of Rovshen Nepesov, «Arkadagyň ýurduna hoş gelipsiň Täze ýyl» of Danatar Hydyrov.

With endless applause, the audience thanked the musicians for the magnificent concert, which turned one of the New Year's evenings into a pleasant and unforgettable.
