2022 is the Year of the Tiger according to the Eastern calendar, so on the New Year's Eve, photographer Alexei Gimaletdinov and I went to the Museum of Wildlife to visit the tigers. The predator enclosure is home to a family of Bengal tigers - a tiger named Shirkhan and a tigress named Mura. Both predators were brought from South Africa and appeared here as babies for the opening of the Museum of Wildlife. They are now 11 years old. They get along well with each other, but they have not yet produced offspring. Zoo workers noticed that Shirkhan was also looking at the lioness that lived next door. But Mura takes this very calmly, she is smart and understands perfectly well that a high fence between the aviaries will protect her family happiness.

Shirkhan greeted us unfriendly. And to emphasize his indifference to uninvited guests, he went to the winter room. Together with junior researcher Tatyana Tarasenko and livestock specialist of the predators department Nursoltan Geldyeva, we also entered the winter room from the side safe for workers. But sensing our approach, Shirkhan let out such a terrifying roar that at the same moment we were on the street. I have never heard anything worse!

“Shirkhan is a very peaceful tiger,” Tatyana Orazovna stood up for her ward. - He just needs to emphasize his status in front of unfamiliar visitors: they say, know who you are dealing with!

Mura was more hospitable. She came up to us, and noticing the camera, she realized that a photo session was ahead. Wasting no time, she climbed onto the trestle bed and took a beautiful pose. I took a picture, decided that one photo was enough, took a lying position and turned away from us. Well, what can you take from her - a tigress!

Now Shirkhan walked up to waddle. Seeing from a distance that Mura had been photographed, he also jumped up onto the trestle bed with a light jump and assumed, unlike Mura, various poses. Well, a born fashion model!

After talking with striped predators, we turn to astrologers and try to figure out what awaits us. And they argue that the coming year 2022 will be a good time to change the boring course of everyday life and learn new things.
