The Ashgabat’s boys and girls like most of all the New Year's performances at the Turkmen State Puppet Theatre. This time, near the decorated New Year tree, a magician and sorcerer in a black overcoat with stars appeared first before the children, who eagerly awaited Ayaz Baba and Garpamyk. To confirm his involvement in miracles, he immediately showed several tricks, and imperceptibly involved boys and girls in the games, as well as fairy-tale characters - the Crow, Rooster, Hedgehog, Hare and even Baba Yaga with a broom.

When Ayaz Baba and Garpamyk came out to the tree, it became even more fun. Ayaz Baba had many gifts in a big bag, and he gave them to children for singing a song or rhyme. Children helped Ayaz Baba to light the tree by loudly shouting magic words: «One! Two! Three!». And then Ayaz Baba invited the children to the Great Hall of the theater, where the puppets and artists prepared for them a performance based on the fairy tale "The Hare and the Fox".

And happy children with faces flushed with fun, holding gifts in their hands, went with Ayaz Baba to the performance. An interesting and very instructive tale said that a Hare and a Fox lived in the same forest. The fox built herself an ice hut, and the Hare - a bast (wooden) one. So, they overwintered happily as a neighbor. But spring came, and Fox's hut melted. Hare took pity on Fox and allowed her to stay with him. But the cheating Fox decided to drive the Hare out of his own house. And one day, having sent him on business, she closed the door and did not let the returning Hare in.

The Dog and the Wolf felt sorry for the Hare, and they decided to protect him, but to no avail. The fox didn't even listen to them. Then the Rooster undertook to help the Hare out of trouble. Noisy and fearless, he ran into Fox, and drove her out of Hare’s house with a crash.

Most of the children in the hall were preschoolers, but they also understood what the fairy tale hinted at: you can't be too trusting, because not everyone is a real friend.

The stage director who shared his worldly wisdom with the guys is Geldimurat Almammedov. The guys were very pleased with this end of the tale, because they were sincerely sorry for the Hare, who suffered because of his gullibility.
