The fabulous exhibition "The World of Dolls and Toys" was opened at the State Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan.

The miniature dolls and original toys presented in the museum are part of the author's collections of original masters from all over the country. The focus of the exhibition is on the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, their traditions and way of life.

Colorful dresses made of silk keteni fabric, bright robes, telpeks, maiden and men's takhya: dolls in national costumes are not a toy, but a kind of reflection of a unique and centuries-old history.

It is no coincidence that the exposition is opened by the ancient ancestor of the Turkmen - Oguz Khan and his sons. Gulyalek Babakulieva conveyed the image of a historical figure in a doll. There are about 200 dolls in her personal collection. Before starting work, the craftswoman studies history, old embroidery and patterns, so all her dolls are dressed in stylized national costumes.

One of the favorite pastimes of the Turkmen children, which has retained its popularity to this day, is the game of alchiki. The composition of boy dolls gathered on the carpet at the ancient game attracts the attention of the youngest visitors of the exhibition. Alchiks can not only be touched, but also played.

In the center of the exhibition hall is the "Tree of Life" - the creative work of Maral Garayeva. The craftswoman in one composition recreated a story that can be scrutinized endlessly and find more and more new details. Here by the tree sits a young mother with a baby in her arms, and a snub-nosed little boy perched on its crown. On the other hand, a salanchak with a sleeping baby sways on a branch, and a little further the cheerful kids made an improvised swing out of a tree.

“Once I was a restless girl and maybe childhood memories were embodied in this work,” says Maral. - To learn how to create believable, realistic dolls, I attended special courses for a long time. And at some period of her life she began to teach in the "Skillful Hands" circle. Recently, my ethno-dolls were presented at the International Festival of Cultures "Oriental Bazaar" Tyubiteika ", which is held in Moscow. Today, it was with great pleasure that I exhibited my work at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan.

Of course, half a day is not enough to get around the entire exposition of dolls, New Year's souvenirs, unique toys.

In the halls of the museum there are toy caravans, painted pumpkins, extraordinary night lamps that create a special atmosphere on New Year's holidays. And if you have not yet found an original gift for your child, then the exhibition "The World of Dolls and Toys" will help you make the right choice. Here you can not only see designer dolls, but also buy them as a souvenir.
