The conference dedicated to motto of 2022 “The Epoch of the People with Arkadag” was held in the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan.

The participants of the event were the representatives of the management teams of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan, accredited abroad, IIR of MFA of the country, and the teachers and students of the institute, the national mass media.

During the event Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, A. Atayeva, the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN, Ch. Rustamova, the executive secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, J. Gurbangeldyev, rector of the Institute of International Relations, N. Shagulyev, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Belarus, G. Elyasov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Japan, and others made a speech.

Within the framework of the conference held on the eve of the New Year, the results of the outgoing year in the field of diplomatic activity of the country were summed up. The effectiveness of the work on the implementation of the national foreign policy strategy in 2021 was noted, which, as is known, on the initiative of Turkmenistan was declared by the General Assembly of UN as “The International Year of Peace and Trust”.

In this context, the results achieved in the international cooperation were announced. Among other things, they talked about the most important events of the year - the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States, the 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization and the International Conference "The Policy of Peace and Trust - the basis of international security, stability and development", etc.

As noted, in the new year 2022, which will be held in Turkmenistan under the motto “The Epoch of the People with Arkadag”, it is necessary to focus on the next tasks set in the field of foreign policy of the state for representatives of diplomatic departments, beginning Turkmen diplomats.

It was noted that next year, as well as the outgoing one, is full of significant events, including on an international scale. Among other things, the VI Summit of the Caspian States, the Inter-Parliamentary Forum "Central Asia + Russia", the Conference of Ministers of Transport of Landlocked Developing Countries, etc. are expected to be held. The speakers expressed the need for further productive implementation of international initiatives and proposals put forward by our country, and emphasized the high importance of the idea of the Head of State on the formation of the Global Initiative "Dialogue - a guarantee of peace".

At the end of the conference, the participants adopted the gratitude address to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
