The events of the second day of Culture Week, held in Mary are united by the idea of succession

In the morning, Culture Week participants were organized a trip to the State Historical and Cultural Park "Ancient Merv" familiarized with unique monuments - the Mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar, ancient fortresses Big and Small Kyz-Kala, other architectural masterpieces included in the prestigious list UNESCO World heritage site.

The "Ancient Merv" monuments serve as one example of a large-scale ongoing work in Turkmenistan for the conservation and study of priceless relics. The ongoing restoration measures aim to maximize preservation of these objects, a special majesty of their architectural look.


Here, according to the customs, the guests were treated with freshly baked bread, pishme, aromatic green tea. Young riders showed the Akhal-Teke horses’ graces. Rhythmically bells rang on camel proudly and sedately paced with wedding kedzhebe. It is known, since past a camel is a symbol of prosperity and wealth for the Turkmen people.


These ethnographic traits stress the continuity link of past and present, because the tradition in Turkmenistan is much more than just a tribute to principles. It is a living reality which embodies society at all levels without hinder its movement, and creates the environment of life in which the wisdom of experience contacts with the innovations, the heritage contacts with the progress, the history with the future, and any positive transformation tends to become a new tradition.

Participants of the rally can also appreciate the beauty of a unique and unrepeatable nature of this fertile land, attract the attention of not only countrymen but also tourists from different countries of the world.


Creative Forum attracts young representatives from different spheres of art, including musicians, dancers, singers, artists and readers. Thus, this morning at the decorated square in front of Mary Library, the presentation of young artists and children's creative teams of Mary region was held a concert programme.

Participants’ performances brighten the scene by their brilliant talents and masteries in singing, musical and choreographic compositions enthralled the audience by their original style having played on musical instruments.


The concert program consists of works of national and world classical music, amazing dances and compositions, songs, praising the beloved Homeland. The concert is held in Mary today. Young talents from the cities and villages of Mary region have demonstrated mastery of a variety of tools. To loud applause the audience rewarded the musicians of Bakhshi, tuydukchi, drummer, violinist, flutist, clarinetist, and accordionist.

The symbol of the continuation of the traditions of the ancient dance is kushtdepdi dance performed by children's groups. The concert ends with a patriotic song.


The artists who start their careers in art performed causing the admiration of a large audience. The most sincere audiences are children, who come here with bright bouquets of flowers, balloons and flowers.

Сhildren’s creative festival stresses the importance of the continuity of the school, thanks to the national culture which retained its identity in all its diversity.


In the evening, it was another concert performance which brought together participants of the forum in the square in front of Mary regional library. Their talents present masters of art of Balkan and Dashoguz regions. The audience warmly applauds the performances of musicians, well-known soloists, popular dance and folk groups, ensembles of folk instruments.
