Murad Divanayev is an uncommon and generously talented by nature person. It is enough to remind that he, a well known opera and singer celebrates his 80th in the administration of artistic exhibition as he is a member of Union of Artists of Turkmenistan. In his personal exhibition Murad Divanayev represented 130 photos, landscape and graphic works. Jubilee congratulations birthday person has been changed to retro-concert. The song “Extraordinary eyes” for many years has been a representativeness of Murad Divanayev, colorfully performed by Gulanara Nuriyeva and Murat Bairamgeldiyev. To loud applause, Danatar Ovezov performed not only the song “I am delighted”, but also represented mini-show and as many years ago.
The displayed works is showcasing the portrait of musicians and painters of Murad Divanayev’s friends, school mate and a friends of his creative life Murad Sadykov, the painters of Aman and Chary Aamangeldiyev, the People’s Artists of USSR Medeniyet Shahberdiyeva, the founder of Turkmen classical music Danatar Ovezov, Ashyr Kuliyev and Velli Muhatov, the legendary dutar player Sahi Jepbarov, the composer Nury Halmammedov and a singer Roza Turayeva. The pen painting “The hand of guitarist”, depicted the talented musicians Islam Babayev who passed away long time ago.
In the pictures of Divanayev in pastose manner of painting there is a feeling of rich carpet color gamma which represent the painter’s Turkmen school of painting. The first thing come to the mind is “Where did he study?”
Since childhood, he wanted to be not a singer or painter; but journalist, writer and poet. In the orphanage at age 10, he read the story of Lev Tolstoi “Caucasian’s captive”. The entire time he spent in the library as reading attracted him taking most of his time. He read many poems, modern stories, and classics. When he moved to brother, and became a student at the Ashgabat secondary school №6, independently issued classical posters- wrote poems, notes, and perfect illustrations.
Thanks to Murad Sadykov and me, our school in all contests of artistic armature activities took the first place, - sais Murad Divanayev. I remember when I performed the song “It is my homeland country broad and wise”. It was a success.
Once, the school hosted creative meeting by singers of Theatre of opera and ballet. Their performances were shifted by amateur activities. I sang songs of Paul Robeson “Sleep, my baby”. After my performance Rostislav Lopatkin, Muhtar Masumov and Maya Kuliyeva advised me to learn singing.
Had you been fated to be a journalist or a singer, then you will be anyway, but now apply to Agricultural Institute, said my brother. –Having applied to agrarian faculty, I was under control of my strict elder brother. Unfortunately, upon completion of the first course, Ministry of Culture directed me to study at the Moscow conservatoire named after Chaikovskiyi. The Moscow weather affected me bad, later in two years I had to continue my school at the Baku conservatoire.
The Azerbaijan baritone singers Muhtar Masumov, Suleyman Mamedov, Kurban Rezayev performed bass in the Turkmen opera bass part. Once I come to the Theatre of opera and ballet those parts was performed by me. The loveliest work is part of opera from “Seville barber” by Rossini and “ Shasenem and Garib” by Dangatar Ovezov and Adrian Shaposhniko, “ Kemine and kazy” be Velli Muhatov and Adrian Shaposhnikov.
In 60th years of last century the first pop ensembles appeared. With the opening of variety-symphony orchestra under the direction of Kurban Kuliyev and I started working with this team. Our partners on the scene were singers Rima Roziyeva and Guljan Hummedova. I published two collection of songs: “Aspiration came” and “Songs of elder artist”, where it was included romances and songs of the poems of Magtymguli, Karajaoglan, Pushkin, Ivan Bunin, as well as personal composing (words and music).
Yet, much time left between rehearsals and performances. I cannot stay without work. My infatuation with poems and music, photos was not enough for me. When I was in Moscow I received a book on “Anatomy of a human being. It is guidance for the painter” I worked on painting. Aman and Chary Amangeldiyev, my teacher and friends gave me practical lessons on painting. Thus, I became a painter.
“In arts, God gave me talents. I live in light up rays”- this poem from the poetry of Murad Divanayev tells about his creative career. He is planning to issue collection of poetry, naming –“School of optimism”. The exhibition posters represent the short poetry from the collection.
Today maestro is engaged in pedagogic activities. Ashgabat art school №3 teaches students to sing.

Murad Orazovich is an owner of unique collection of photo portraits of famous figures of Turkmen culture. For many years he collected archive of valued photos of singers, dancers of ballet, artists, and musicians. Knowing about these infatuations he brings old posters and photos of creative persons. Many of them are no longer with us. In his apartment, the photos are taking large space but this is truly historic documents. For example, photos of Sona Muradova-performer of the first Turkmen opera “Gyul Bilbil”, the premier held in 1941, the librettist Karaja Burunov, masters of ballet Murat Ahundov and Lidiya Kondyukova, photos founders of Turkmen opera Adrian Shaposhnikov and Yulia Meitus. Murad Orazovich is sure that these pictures will be in need in perspectives.
