Today, the next stage of the election campaign, meetings of candidates for President of Turkmenistan with voters, began. A legal system has been formed in our country that guarantees democratic procedures for the free expression of the will by citizens, and regulates all stages of the electoral process that meet high international standards.

In accordance with the Electoral Code of the country, candidates from the moment of their registration have equal opportunities for freedom of campaigning, the right to speak at pre-election meetings and in the media. At the same time, the electoral process is carried out on the basis of publicity and openness.

Today, in an assembly hall of the Dashoguz Velayat Hyakimlik, voters met with candidate for President of Turkmenistan, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov, nominated by the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan.

Representatives of work collectives of all sectors of the velayat’s economy, public organizations, secondary specialized educational institutions, honorary elders and gray-haired mothers gathered there to meet with the candidate for the highest state post.

Chairman of the Dashoguz Velayat Committee of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan M. Meredov, having opened the meeting, gave the floor to candidate’s election agent, teacher at secondary school No. 65 of Gorogly etrap T. Aramedova.

Having familiarized the audience with the biography of Serdar Berdimuhamedov, she introduced the candidate as a young, enterprising, thinking big and responsible leader with a broad experience in the successful implementation of national development programs, gained over the years of work in various areas of state activity, as well as a person with high moral and organizational qualities.

Candidate for President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who then spoke, thanked the voters for nominating him for such a high and responsible post, and noted that it was a great honor for him to take part as a candidate in the upcoming presidential elections.

“This is a great responsibility not only for me, but for the entire young generation brought up over the years of independence”, the candidate said.

Setting forth the basic provisions of his election program, Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that increasing the prestige of Turkmenistan around the world and further successful development of the country are among the historical objectives. The Program “Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state: the National Program for Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052”, developed on the initiative of Leader of the Nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, outlines important goals aimed at stepping up work to strengthen state sovereignty, maintain Homeland’s further prosperity at a new stage of development.

As was noted, in the event that he is elected to the highest state post, the candidate intends to pay great attention, along with other regions of the country, to the Dashoguz Velayat, through which the Great Silk Road ran in ancient times, the land famous for many historical figures, known for its fertility and abundance, high skill of the farmers.

Due to the successful implementation of state reform programs, Serdar Berdimuhamedov continued, all sectors of the economy have been significantly developed in the northern region of the country, where new settlements, modern schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and stadiums have been built.

“The cinstructive reforms initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will be carried on in the future”, the candidate said.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov outlined a range of objectives to be achieved by him. These include development of housing construction, high-quality drinking water supplies for the population, efficient use of water resources, development of national and international tourism in the region, construction of new modern general education schools and preschool institutions in cities and villages.

Emphasizing also the importance of further construction and reconstruction of roads in the velayat, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in particular, focused on such routes as Ashgabat-Dashoguz, and motorways connecting the administrative center of the velayat to Ruhubelent etrap and Kunyaurgench city.

The candidate’s program also specified the support for entrepreneurs, their active participation in reforming the agricultural sector providing various preferential conditions to them by the state. As was stressed, these measures will contribute to further development of the industry for processing various agricultural products, including sesame, wheat and cotton. Moreover, taking into account the electors’ mandates, the private producers will be further encouraged, the candidate assured.

In the course of an interested conversation with voters about further development of the country, Serdar Berdimuhamedov answered a number of questions from those present, specifying some of the provisions in his election platform. In particular, he focused on topics related to protecting public health and maintaining environmental safety, improving the population’s social and living conditions in the regions, presenting his vision of these and other challengea, as well as specific measures to address them.

The meeting participants stressed with satisfaction that over the years of independence, a talented, highly educated generation of domestic leaders and professionals has been formed, for whom a wide road to public administration is opening up in the new epoch. At the same time, they have a great responsibility for the successful implementation of national programs for further development of Turkmenistan, including the Program “Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state: the National Program for Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052”.

Thanking the audience for the warm welcome and attention shown, the candidate for President of Turkmenistan once again assured the voters that he would apply all his strength and knowledge to use the experience accumulated over the years of work for the further prosperity of his Homeland.

Meetings of candidates for President of Turkmenistan are in progress. During the time left before the elections, candidates for the highest state post will have to meet with their voters more than once.

A special role is to be played by election agents, who will have to tell voters about the candidates’ platforms in a very accessible way, and acquaint them more closely with their biographies.

At the same time, the process of nomination and registration of candidates for President of Turkmenistan goes on in an atmosphere of maximum openness and transparency, which is a striking illustration of the triumph for the rule of law, the principles of democracy and freedom of expression in our country.
