Circus artists as acrobats, rope-walkers, magicians, jugglers, animal trainers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Holland, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Ethiopia and our country took part in the festival in Astana (Kazakhstan).

Gymnast Selbi Shihieva from Ashgabat presented original air performance “Linen” that opened competitive gala show. Lightly and gracefully flitting under the dome on crimson ribbons, she made spectators worry for her every second as she did her performance without safety equipment. Selbi flew over arena as the Firebird under charming melody and at some point the public stooped breathing: the artist made the main stunt of her performance – breathtaking swift descent by ribbons, which caused a storm of ovations and enthusiastic exclamations.

As a result, the jury awarded her with silver medal for “High performance and professionalism”. Selbi also was awarded with special prize from Kazakhstan State Circus”.

Using this performance as air gymnast, S. Shihieva made her début one year ago at the stage of Turkmenistan State Circus. Previously, she performed in “Rubber” number; later, fidgety girl was carried away by fancy riding and rode the horse having become dashing horsewoman and member of famous group of national horse sport games “Galkynysh”. Today, she is attracted by the altitude. In a word, Selbi manages to do everything she touches because she is talented and insistent in her targets. Moreover, there are all conditions for professional and creative development.
