The main investment projects implemented by the Agency "Turkmendemiryollary" this year will be directed to the reconstruction and modernization of the railway infrastructure
In particular. The construction contractor JSC "Demiryollary" on the instructions of the agency is building a new bridge at the 4975th kilometer of the railway (between junction 112 and Uzynsu station) in the Bereket etrap of the Balkan velayat. The modern road construction is designed to replace the metal bridge, which has been in operation here for more than one hundred and twenty years. The new road facility is characterized by high culvert capacity, seismic stability and operational reliability. Its bridge part is more than a hundred meters, and the total length with connecting approaches is about 1900 meters.
The project of moving through the mudflow channel was carried out by the design and survey institute "Turkmendemiryollary". With the introduction of the new bridge into operation on this section, the average speed of trains will increase significantly.
Currently, bridge builders have fixed the bodies of all four supports and are reinforcing the crossbars.
The Turkmendemiryollary Agency, together with the Demiryollary OJSC, plans to continue the construction of a number of modern culverts on the Mary-Serhetabat railway line and a bridge over the Kushka River - between Serhetabat stations - the state border (with Afghanistan). These activities will be carried out within the framework of the requirements of the President of Turkmenistan dated February 11 this year on the need to increase the capacity of the direction - Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe. With the introduction of these structures into operation, the average sectional speed of trains will increase significantly.
Railway workers are preparing for the implementation of a set of measures carried out on the railway section for the use of electric rolling stock on it: electric locomotives or electric trains.
Within the framework of the Program of the President of Turkmenistan, aimed at the socio-economic development of the country in the period 2019-2025, with the participation of the Austrian independent specialized company for the provision of engineering services “BERNARD Gruppe ZT GmbH” Agency “Turkmendemiryollary”, a feasibility study (feasibility study) is being prepared for the electrification of iron roads of Turkmenistan. In particular, at the first stage, it provides for the modernization and electrification of the Ashgabat-Dushak section with the attraction of credit funds from the Asian Development Bank. The feasibility study will include options for upgrading the existing or building a new sleeper plant. The feasibility study is scheduled to be completed in the second half of this year.
