Traditionally, for almost 10 years on International Women's Day, the capital's Exhibition Center hosts exhibitions of fine arts, the authors of which are representatives of the beautiful half of humanity. This year, 269 works by women artists of Turkmenistan took part in the exhibition-competition: students and teachers of the State Academy of Arts, the Turkmen State Art College, as well as freelance artists. Paintings, drawings, exquisite jewelry, highly artistic ceramics were included in the Inspiration of the Women's Heart exposition, which occupied both floors of the Exhibition Center.
Special attention of the visitors was attracted by the triptych of the 2nd year student of the Academy of Arts Makhym Atakova "Girlfriends", made in the design style. Two girls are preening their friend, braiding her braid. It's funny that the braid from one picture goes into another. To the question: “How did the idea to create a triptych from a regular episode come about?” Makhym replies: “Once I witnessed how one girl braided a braid to another. It was then that the idea was born, to take a mirror and take part in this process. So the girl with the mirror is me.”
It is gratifying that talented young people surprise us with their humor, lightness and originality.
And if in the work “Girlfriends” Makhym acts more as a designer, then in the painting “Offended” she reveals herself as a wonderful painter, but also with humor. The girl was not accepted by the boys to play football. The little girl burst into tears out of embarrassment. But she was not left alone: she has true friends - two Alabai, who console their beloved mistress as best they can.
One of the paintings at the exhibition, which is impossible to pass by without stopping, is “Beady Eyes” by Guncha Yazmukhamedova. Guncha managed to portray the laughing children in such a way that looking at them, one wants to join their fun.
Women artists often turn to children in their paintings, and this is natural. And talented works impress visitors, remain in their memory. One of these paintings can also be classified as a “Children” theme, although there are no children in it. In Sheker Nokergeldyeva's painting "Ene", the grandmother bakes such delicious pies that they make all the visitors of the exhibition appetize. Only a grandmother can bake such pies for her beloved grandchildren.
Design works are increasingly appearing at exhibitions. While still a student at the State Academic Art Theater, Jeyran Umarova exhibited her works, among which batik on silk was especially memorable. Today Jeyran is one of the country's leading designers. The exhibition demonstrates several of her works, which, as always, surprise with the author's imagination and mastery of embodiment. For example, a set of utensils with three-dimensional perception - a plate made in the national color with spoons rising above it.
All participants of the exhibition-competition received Diplomas and gifts from the Ministry of Culture and the National Trade Union Center. But the winner of the competition, Tuvak Sahedova, was presented with a gift from President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Tuvak presented two works for the exhibition, which are different from the other exhibited paintings. Working in a decorative ethnic style, Tuvak uses in his compositions the embroidery ornament of women from five velayats. In the composition “For You”, the artist used an antique vase with roses, standing at the junction of embroideries. “Tribes live as one family, one tablecloth is spread out for the toy” - this famous line from Magtymguly's poem fits as an epigraph to each work of Tuvak Sahedova.
