People's Artist of Turkmenistan, Professor of the Department of Solo Singing of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after. Maya Kuliyeva Atageldi Garyagdyyev celebrated his 70th birthday with an unforgettable concert with a very warm title «For Friends». Students and teachers of the conservatory, actors of the capital's theaters, specialists from the Ministry of Culture, as well as numerous admirers of the talent of the amazing baritone Atageldi Garyagdyyev filled the auditorium of the Turkmen Music and Drama Theater named after. Magtymguly.
The hero of the day opened the concert with Danatar Hydyrov’s song to Dovletgeldi Annamyradov's verses «Live long, Arkadag!», performed together with the choir to the accompaniment of the State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Resul Gylyjov. The vocal beauty caused a storm of applause in the hall.
The organizers of the concert made up the program in such a way that after each performance of the outstanding singer, representatives of creative teams came on stage to congratulate the hero of the day on behalf of themselves and their colleagues. Among them are the rector of the conservatory, candidate of art history of Turkmenistan Resul Amangeldiyev, Hero of Turkmenistan Gozel Shagulyyeva, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Saragt Babayev, composer Danatar Hydyrov, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Gulalek Akmyradova, People's Writer of Turkmenistan Govshutgeldi Danatarov, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov, daughter of the poet Gurbannazar Ezizov Yazgul Ezizova and others. In the speeches of each of them there were words of gratitude for a great talent.
The concert program included about 10 songs to poems by Gurbannazar Ezizov and music by Nury Halmamedov. From the newsreel of past years, presented in the video on stage: Nury Halmamedov, speaking about the performing talent of Atageldi Garyagdyyev, noted that this singer passes the text of the song through his heart and treats every word like a jewel. From the stage, Atageldi Garyagdyyev performed such wonderful songs as «I can’t get enough of your look», «Lullaby», «Song of a border guard in love», «For friends», «Mountains» and others. It seemed that the singer selects the best songs for himself, or they become the best in his performance. But most likely both of them - together.
As expected, the concert program ended with two song hits - «Ashgabat» to the verses of Geldi Bashiyev, the music of Nury Halmamedov and «Turkmenistan» to the verses of Gylychmyrat Kakabayev, the music of Rejep Rejepov, which the audience accepted with a standing ovation. A sea of flowers, applause and admiration in the eyes were addressed to the singer loved by the whole country, whose voice became the pride of Turkmenistan.
