The Conservatory invites you to listen to film music by Rejep Rejepov

On April 1, in the Great Hall of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva, a concert “The World of Film Music by Rejep Rejepov” will be held. The State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan under the direction of its artistic director and chief conductor Rasul Klychev will perform compositions by the People's Artist of Turkmenistan, laureate of the State Prize named after. Magtymguly Rejep Rejepov, created for famous films included in the golden fund of Turkmen cinema.

The famous composer, who passed away just over a year ago, is the author of music for dozens of films, among which are such masterpieces as Quenching Thirst, The Daughter-in-Law, When a Woman Saddles a Horse, Jamal Tree, Magtymguly.

Film music is a significant layer of the multifaceted creative heritage of Rejep Rejepov. According to his daughter Aydzhemal Rejepova, this genre was very important for him in his father's work, and he always tried with his music to reveal the storyline of the film as fully as possible, to convey the ideas and feelings inherent in it. To achieve perfection in this, he thoroughly studied the technique of the genre, its tasks and possibilities. And that is why the film music of Rejep Rejepov not only lyrically or dramatically supports the plot of the film, enhancing the meaning of the director's intention, but also conveys the depth of the characters' experiences and creates a certain mood among the audience, enriching their spiritual world.

As a representative of a brilliant constellation of Turkmen creative intelligentsia, Rejep Rejepov was personally acquainted, friends and closely collaborated with many composers, vocalists, artists and directors. It is believed that acquaintance and cooperation with the talented director Bulat Mansurov marked the beginning of his passion for film music. Rejep Rejepov composed music for two films by Bulat Mansurov - "Quenching" based on the novel by Yuri Trifonov and "Slave" based on the story by Andrei Platonov. And this creative union of brilliant talents has produced remarkable results. Music from films and many songs of Rejep Rejepov "went to the people" and are perceived as folk, which the composer himself perceived as the highest appreciation of his work.

The beginning of the concert dedicated to the film music of Rejep Rejepov, at 16.00. Free admission.
