Hospitality traditions of the peoples of Central Asia became the topic of an online seminar held in Kazakhstan

On the last day of March, representatives of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an online seminar on traditional oriental hospitality.

As part of the event, reports were read on the analysis of the peculiarities of oriental etiquette, including the rite of receiving guests, the rules of conduct for the owners of the house, the order of seating at the table and the distribution of dishes among the guests.

As the participants of the forum noted, hospitality remains the most important component of life for the population of the region. It has been inherent in the Turkmens, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Kyrgyz and Tajiks for many centuries, becoming a special feature of the national character.

The participants of the event unanimously noted that although the customs of hospitality have undergone significant changes over time, they remain one of the most important values for all the peoples of Central Asia.
