The Mary State Drama Theater named after Kemine has completed work on a new production of "Türkmen sahysy". The performance was staged according to the book by Arkadag “The Spiritual World of the Turkmens” and addressed to one of the heroes of folk tales Khatamtai.

An example of generosity and humanism - Khatamtai became famous for his generosity, about which there are many legends and tales that have survived to this day. A vivid evidence of this is the parable given on the pages of the book “The Spiritual World of the Turkmens”:

“One rich man was very jealous of him. He said: “Why does everyone love Khatamtai and talk about his generosity incessantly? He is hardly more generous than us. I will go to visit him and ask him to give me the horse he loves more than anything in the world. I wonder how he will behave?

This parable ends with the fact that, having fallen into severe bad weather, the travelers asked for an overnight stay in the first house they came across. The owner of the dwelling arranged a hearty welcome for the guests, fed and warmed them. When the wanderers tried to find out from the hospitable host where the house of the rich Khatamtai was, it turned out that the person who sheltered them was Khatamtai himself.

“Actually, I wanted to ask you to give me your horse. However, now that we have seen your generosity and hospitality, there is no need for that.”

The performance of the Mary Theater was also staged in parable language. The musical leitmotif of the production was destans and bakhshi songs. While working on the script, the director Ata Gullarov, who had long dreamed of bringing the story of Khatamtai to life on stage, worked closely with the poet Novruz Gurbanmuradov.

The director's conceptual idea was realized with the help of original stage solutions. The basis of the dramatic conflict is the greed and greed of some, as opposed to the sacrifice and nobility of others.

“A meek person is rich in his patience,” says Mukhamettyrkesh Rustamov, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, through his hero Khatamtai.

The amazing play of the entire acting troupe created colorful images that the first spectators of the performance will soon be able to appreciate.
